Changes to SJHL for next season.

The Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League will look a little bit different when it returns next season. The league's board of governors have announced they will move from 2 divisions to 3 divisions next season.

Melville, Estevan, Weyburn and Yorkton in 1 division, while Notre Dame, Kindersley, Battlefords and Humboldt in another division and finally La Ronge, Flin Flon , Melfort and Nipawin in the third and final division.

The top 10 teams will make the playoffs after the new 56 games schedule (new). The top 2 teams in each division will make the playoffs automatically then the final 4 teams that qualify will be named as wildcard teams. While the 1st rpund of the playoffs between the wildcars it will be 7th place vs. 10th place and 8th vs 9th squaring off to see who advances to the top 10 then those two teams will be reseeded as 7th and 8th.

  1. Think this is a good idea. Will cut down on travel costs for the teams.
