Curtis Veitch, Brett Lafond and Russell Turner all scored as the Wayway Wolverines got a big 3-1 victory over the Virden Oil Capitals.
Cory Simons stopped 26 of 27 shots for the victory and the Wolverines now sit 2 points ahead of the Oil Caps for the final playoff spot in the Sherwood with 3 games in hand.
The Wolverines will return to action on Tuesday when they host the Dauphin Kings at 7:30 Wayway Arena Complex.

Dawson McAuley stopped 20 shots for his 2nd straight shutout as the Yorkton Terriers defeated the Kindersley Klippers 1-0 on Saturday night.
Curtis Oliver got the lone goal for the Terriers.
The Terriers will return to action on Wednesday when they visit the Weyburn Red Wings. GX94 will broadcast the game starting with the pregame at 7:20, play by play at 7:30 from Crescent Point Place.
