Mils; Terriers; Stamps all lose on Wednesday Night

The Melville Millionaires coming off a big victory over the Flin Flon Bombers fell to the Melfort Mustangs 2-1 on Wednesday night.

Sean Aschim would open the scoring 7:12 into the 1st period on the Powerplay and the Mils took a 1-0 lead. But 'Stangs would reply before the end of the 1st period to make it 1-1 after 1 period.

There would be no scoring thru the 2nd period until Godric Tham scored with 33 seconds left in regulation time for the game to make it a 2-1 Melfort victory.

Jesse Wilkins made 26 Saves for the win while Alex Wakaluk was solid once again stopping 31 in a losing cause.

The Mils return to action again on Friday when they host the Kindersley Klippers 7:30 HCUC.

The Yorkton Terriers fell 7-2 to the hometown Humboldt Broncos on Wednesday night.

In the MJHL, the Swan Valley Stampeders travelled up to the Pas but they dropped a 5-3 decision to the OCN Blizzard.

Braydon McDonald , Jordan Neduzak and Kyle Smart scored for the Stamps while Landon Noel stopped 27 shots in the loss.

The Stamps will return to action on Friday when they visit the Neepawa Natives

  1. Was on the sj boards and a comment from a broncos fan caught my eye. The suggestion was that maybe Kale Thomson needs to take the cardboard out of his mask before he steps on the ice. Last 3 starts...7 goals in Humbolt, 3 on 10 shots against Weyburn and 4 in 10 shots against La Ronge. Can Yorkton pick up a goalie from somewhere or are we stuck with this guy?
