Successful Benefit Hockey game in Moosomin this past Friday for the Humboldt Broncos

The Town of Moosomin held a benefit game on Friday night to raise funds for the Humboldt Broncos.
The Broncos team bus was headed to a playoff game in Nipawin when it was involved in a collision with a semi, killing 16 and injuring another 13.
As a result, it caused many, not only in the hockey community, but all over the world to grieve and offer support and condolences to the Community of Humboldt and its Junior A Hockey Club.
One of the co-organizers was Mike Schwean and he says it was more than your typical hockey game, according to Schwean.
This one featured 6 SJHL and WHL referees apiece and more than a hundred hockey players participating in the event.

Silent auction items, a service and a B-B-Q were among the other activities that were a part of the benefit game.
While the fundraising total is still being counted up, Schwean says it could be in the 30 to 40 thousand dollar range.
All of the proceeds will be donated to the families affected by the bus accident.
