The Manitoba Junior Hockey League is pausing all hockey activities until the beginning of 2021.
This is in response to the entire province going into the critical level of the pandemic response system, as a result of large volumes of COVID-19 cases.
"It's obviously disappointing, there is no question about that, if anything and you wanna look to the positive side is that we did get to play some games and got things rolling and it's an extended Christmas break for all and lets hope we can get this virus controlled so we can back on the ice as soon as we can safely in the New Year," Swan Valley Stampeders Head Coach Barry Wolff commented after the announcement was made.
The public health orders will remain in effect for two weeks at a minimum.
The tentative date planned for hockey activities to resume is Friday, January 1st, 2021, depending on public health guidance.
