Mils defeat Weyburn 6-2 to win 9th straight game

The Melville Millionaires captured their 9th game in a row with a 6-2 victory over the Weyburn Red Wings.

Michael Sagen would open the scoring for the Mils on the Powerplay while TJ Reeve and Nathan Boyer would also add 1st period goals to give the Mils a 3-0 after 1 period.

Reeve would open the scoring with his 2nd goal of the night to make it 4-0 then while Shorthanded Colin Mospanchuk ripped a wrister past Nate Ferris to give the Mils a 5 goal lead. But before the end of the middle frame Ty McLean would open the scoring for the Wings to make 5-1 Mils after 40 minutes.

Boyer would add his 2nd of the night and 26th of the season to make it 6-1, but Shain Scheschuk would make it a 4 goal game once again and that's where it would stand at 6-2 Mils.

The Mils Alex Wakaluk was in goal for the victory while Nate Ferris took the loss in the Wings net.

The Mils still have a slight chance for first in the Sherwood division 2 points back of the Yorkton Terriers and the Mils have two more games remaining on Friday in Humboldt against the Broncos before finishing off the season at home On Saturday against the Battlefords North Stars.
