The Wayway Wolverines had a 1 goal lead on 3 separate occasions and were just able to get point out of the hockey game as they fell 4-3 in overtime to hometown Dauphin Kings.
There was a lot of chances from both sides in the 1st period but after 20 minutes it was scoreless.
Wolverines' captain Curtis Veitch would open the scoring with a breakaway marker shorthanded his 12th to make 1-0 Wolverines. But a long shot from the point from Kings dman Tanner Butler would be deflected by Jeff Archibald and get past goaltender Cory Simons to tie up the game 1 apiece. Just over 2 minutes though, Wayway would get the lead right back on the powerplay as JJ Cruikshank would put the loose puck past goalie Jeremy Pominville for 7th of the season to once again give the visitors a 1 goal lead. But once again the Kings would even the game as Jesse Sinatynski would get his league leading 36th goal of the season with the extra man to make it a 2-2 game. Veitch would get his 2nd of the net and 13th of the year with 27 seconds left in the middle frame on the powerplay to give the Wolverines a 1 goal lead at 3-2 after 40 minutes.
The Kings' would even one last time 11:20 into the 3rd period shorthanded as Sutton Olson would put the loose puck top shelf on Simons to make it a 3-3 tie after regulation time. Then just 1:54 into the overtime period, Jon Gaudet would give the Kings' , a 4-3 overtime victory.
Cory Simons stopped 35 shots for Wayway in a losing cause, while both teams were 2 for 7 in the powerplay department.
Despite the loss, they did gain a point and Wayway now moves into a tie of 41 points with the Winkler Flyers for that final playoff spot in the Sherwood Division. They will begin a 2 game southern road trip on Friday in Portage against the Terriers.

While in Estevan, Jeremy Johnson got his 26th goal of the season just 1:02 into overtime as the Yorkton Terriers defeated the Estevan Bruins 2-1 to make it 6 wins in a row.
Fellow 20 year old Nathan Murray got the other goal for the Terriers who got 24 stops from Dawson McAuley for his 6th straight win in the Terriers goal.
They will have a 8 day break before hosting the Notre Dame Hounds next Wednesday night (Feb 13th). GX94 will broadcast the game starting with pregame at 7:20

The Melville Millionaires won their 5th game in a row as they were down 3-1 but would score 4 goals in the 3rd period to defeat the Weyburn Red Wings 5-3.
Allan Kilback led the way for the Mils with 2 goals including the game winner and empty netter while Ian McNulty, Alex Elliot and Daniel Orsborn would reply with the other Millionaires goals. Alex Wakaluk stopped 22 shots to get win number 24 on the season.
The Mils will return to action on Friday when they take on the Notre Dame Hounds in Fort Qu'Appelle at 7:30. GX94 will broadcast the game starting with the pregame at 7:20, pxp at 7:30 from the Fort Rexentre.
