Terriers give up 5 in the 3rd as they fall at home to La Ronge

The Yorkton Terriers let one slip away on Tuesday night as they lost their 2nd straight 6-4 to the La Ronge Ice Wolves at the FAA.

It was the start the Terriers were looking for as they would storm out of the gate just 55 seconds in when they Kailum Gervais would get his 8th of the season to give the Terriers a quick 1-0 lead. The Terriers would get a couple more of the sticks of Brett Boehm (20th) and Tyler Giebel (8th) to give the Terriers a 3 goal 3-0 lead. The Ice Wolves would add one in the latter stages of the third when Tyson Valette would add a marker to make it a 3-1 Terrier lead after 20 minutes of play.

Both teams would exchange chances in the middle frame, but both teams couldn't muster up a goal as the 2nd period would go scoreless so the Terriers continued to cling to a 2 goal lead after 40 minutes.

In the third the Ice Wolves would come out with a bang as they would notch 3 goals in just 2 minutes and 21 seconds as Daulton Siwak, Sebastian Beauregard and Jared Iron would get the goals to give La a Ronge their first lead at 4-3 early in the 3rd. Just 5:17 later, the Wolves would make it a 2 goal lead as former Millionaire Rhett Kehoe would give LR a 5-3 lead. The Terriers would show some life as cut their deficit within 1 as Giebel would get his 2nd of the night and 9th of the season making it 5-4. But Sebastian Beauregard would cap off his 5 point night with his 2nd goal to ice it a give La Ronge a 6-4 victory.

Tyler Fuhr stopped 35 of 37 shots after coming in relief of Dason Sydora who left with a cut on his hand while Kale Thomson turned aside 22 shots for the loss.

The Terriers will look to stop the 2 game slide on Friday when they visit the Humboldt Broncos. 7:20/7:30 on GX94.
