It was a golden Saturday for a couple of local badminton players at the Saskatchewan High School Badminton Championships in Swift Current.
The Melville duo of Talon Frick and Kylie Severson captured the Mixed Doubles Gold Medal after 3 set victory over a team from Englefeld.
"It's really special, it's been something we've been working towards since we started playing together when I was Grade 8 and Kylie was Grade 7, so this was kinda our goal to win Provincials and we were able to finish it off", Frick said in a phone interview with GX94.
Frick will graduate from High School badminton this year while Severson whose currently in Grade 11 intends to switch to Girls' Singles next year.
