The MJHL's Swan Valley Stampeders are proud to
announce that Quintin Sudom has committed to play for the University of
Alberta-Augustana Vikings, located in Camrose, AB.
The 6’2” 201 lbs Fort McMurray, AB native
was named the MJHL Defenceman of the Year during the 2018/2019 season
with the Stampeder organization.
Sudom played two seasons for the Stampeders, collecting 26 goals and 64 assists in 109 regular season games.
“I am pleased to join the U of A
Vikings, they are a great school, and have a fantastic program,” said
Sudom. “It is exciting to be put in to a veteran line up and have a
chance to make an impact and win a Championship right away. I would like
to thank the Stampeder organization and everyone who has helped me
further my career.”
“We are very pleased to add a defenceman
of Quintin’s pedigree to Vikings Hockey on many levels,” said Vikings
Head Coach Blaine Gusdal. “Any time you can recruit a top end player,
it’s a boost to your program and we are confident Quintin will fill a
big role for us on our back end immediately and throughout his
University career. His offensive numbers speak volumes as a productive
power play quarterback and he’s also proven to be a very solid student
which fits well with our high academic standards at U of A-Augustana.”
“We are very happy for Quintin, and it’s
well deserved,” said former Stampeder Head Coach and General Manager
Barry Wolff. “the Vikings Hockey team and U of A-Augustana School just
got a whole lot better.”
The entire Stampeder Organization would
like to congratulate Sudom on his recent commitment to play with the
University of Alberta-Augustana Vikings.
