Wednesday Recap from 2023 MJHL/SJHL Showcase in Winnipg

 



GAME 1: 

SJHL 20U Gold 6,
  MJHL 20U Black 0

The SJHL 20U Gold used a 4 goal second period to cruise to a 6-0 win over Team MJHL 20U Black to kick off Day 2 of the Showcase. 

Kian Bell (Battlefords) netted a hat-trick for the SJHL squad while Melfort's Dawson Leroux (2) and Ryley Morgan (Weyburn) also scored. 

Melville Millionaires forward Jaxon Martens earned his 2nd point of the event with an assist in the 2nd period. 

Estevan goalie Cam Hrdlicka stopped 35 shots for the shutout, while MJHL G and Swan Valley Stampeders netminder Kobe Grant made 35 saves as well in the loss. 



GAME 2:  

SJHL 20U White 2, MJHL 20U Red 4 

Hayden Laquette (Portage) and Hayden Stocks (Neepawa) each had 1G 1A each to help lead MJHL 20U Red to a 4-2 win over SJHL 20U White. 

Matthew Gough (Dauphin) and Brett Tataryn (Niverville) also scored for MJHL while Swan Valley Stampeder F Trey Sauder had an assist in the game. 

Maguire Ratzlaff (Nipawin) and Jeremi Tremblay (Flin Flon)  replied for the SJHL team


GAME 3:

SJHL 18U Blue 8,  MJHL 18U White 2

Alexi Sylvestre (Flin Flon) scored twice, while Battleford's Jackson Allan chipped in with 1G 2A to lead SJHL 18U Blue to a convincing 8-2 win over MJHL 18U White to wrap up the Showcase. 

Carsten Kayter (Humboldt), Matthew Van Blaircom (Humboldt), Xavier Roy (Humboldt), Ty Mason (Weyburn), Jag Phangura (Estevan) also scored for SJHL Blue. 

Replying for the MJHL squad was Winkler's Brody Beauchemin and Nolan Chastko of the Virden Oil Capitals.
