The SJHL’s Melville Millionaires held their 2023 Annual General Meeting last night (Thurs) in the boardroom of the HCUC.
President Tammy Stevenson says the night was full of good discussion.
"Meeting was great. We are moving into the new season ready to get at it and kicking it off this weekend."
Financially, Stevenson says it showed the team did suffer a loss from the 2022/23 campaign
"We came in better than the previous season, but we are still looking at a loss of about $60,000, so with the excitement and anticipation buzzing around town, we are definitely looking forward to seeing more fans at the rink this season which of course helps our bottom line immensely."
The Millionaires have a few fundraisers that will be taking place this season including the annual Club 400 (Details below:) as well as new Cash Lotterry and a Calcutta, in which details will be sent out for those in the near future.
Stevenson adds though looking forward with their new hockey operations staff in place, she's feels very optimistic for this campaign.
"There is a great buzz around town, people are excited not only with the anticipation of what the team looks like this season but also with the addition our new head coach and assistant.
Doug has extensive history with the SJHL and that excites our fans and Geordie has a great hockey resume as well and will be a huge asset to our club."
The club also announced a new position was formed and that former Mils captain & current board member Daniel Hope will serve as the clubs Director of Hockey Operations.
The Millionaires kick off their 2023 Fall Camp tonight (Fri) at the HCUC.
