Brett Butz score the game winner in round 4 of the shootout to lead the Yorkton Terriers to a season opening 3-2 road win over the Weyburn Red Wings at Crescent Point Place.
Jaron Desnoyers and Anthony Domina (1st SJHL goals each) scored in regulation for the Terriers while Jermore Maharaj and Elijah Anderson replied for the Red Wings.
Caleb Allen turned aside made 38 saves on 40 shots then turned aside all four shooters in the shootout.
Red Wings G Dazza Mitchell made 34 stops in the SOL.

MILLIONAIRES 2, BRUINS 3
Felix Allard scored the game winner at 7:02 of the third period on the powerplay to lead the Estevan Bruins to 3-2 win over the Melville Millionaires in their home opener.

Owen Barrow and Brendan Hunchak gave the Bruins a 2-0 lead in the 2nd, before Mils got goals from Euan Morrison (1st SJHL goal) and Caden Drury to even it up after 2.
Cam Hrdlicka made 26 saves on 28 Melville shots to earn his 1st W of the season, while in the Mils' net William Dyke turned aside 26 of 29.
The Millionaires will have their home opener on Saturday night back in Melville against these same Bruins.
BOMBERS 5, HAWKS 3
Trevor Stenglein scored twice, while Harmon Laser-Hume made only 17 saves to lead the Flin Flon Bombers to a 5-3 win over the hometown Nipawin Hawks.
Matt Egan, Aiden Chow, and Joey Lies also scored for the Bombers who outshot the Hawks 49-20.
Maguire Ratzlaff, Hudson Cameron and Evan Forrest scored the Hawks, who got 44 saves from Damon Cunningham in the loss.
KLIPPERS 0, NORTH STARS 4
Joey Hawco's 29 saves shutout help lead the defending champion Battlefords North Stars to a 4-0 victory over the Kindersley Klippers.
Riley Girod, Owen Underhill, Alex Izyk and Josh Karman chipped in offensively for Battlefords.
Cody Jaman was solid in the loss for Kindersley making 38 saves.
ICE WOLVES 4, MUSTANGS 8
The Melfort Mustangs used a six goal first period as they doubled up the La Ronge Ice Wolves 8-4 on Friday night.
Mathieu Pigeon scored twice for the Mustangs while Zac Somers, Nolan Roberts, David Coyle, Ryan Duguay, Chase Friedt-Mohr, and Logan Belton.
Raine Hodge, Tyler Gyori, William Forsberg and Jacob Cossette scored the visitors.
James Venne earned the win in goal for Melfort making 27 saves while Ice Wolves starter Topher Chirico stopped 36 of 44.

STAMPEDERS 1, KINGS 7
Gavin Nemis, Blake Boudreau and Logan Walker each scored twice to lead the Dauphin Kings to a commanding 7-1 victory over the visiting Swan Valley Stampeders.
Gabriel Bugeaud also had a goal for Dauphin who 24 saves from Cole Sheffield.
Truman Boettiger scored his 1st MJHL goal in the loss, while Elias Giaccari-Dimitriou made 33 saves in the defeat.
The Stamps host the OCN Blizzard in their home opener on Saturday night.
TITANS 1, WOLVERINES 4
Neo Kiemeney had a 2G 1A night, while Marek Andres made 36 saves leading the Waywayseecappo Wolverines to a season-opening a 4-1 triumph over the Neepawa Titans.
Jackson Roth and Jack Clarke also scored for the Wolverines, while Mason Hartley scored for the road team.
Mason Lobreau in the loss for Neepawa stopped 33 of 37 Wayway shots.
The Wolverines head on the road on Saturday night to take on the Niverville Nighthawks.
STEELERS 3, NIGHTHAWKS 5
The Niverville Nighthawks used a 4 goal third period to comeback to defeat the Selkirk Steelers 5-3.
Captain Brett Tataryn led the way offensively with 1G 2A while Michael Debrito, Nathan Brown, Caleb Lepitre and Mighton Johnson also scored.
Mathieu Catellier (2) and Colton Crysler scored the Steelers.
PISTONS 4, OIL CAPITALS 3
The defending champion Steinbach Pistons got two goals from Kirk Mullen as they opened up their season with a 4-3 win over the Virden Oil Capitals.
Cole Plowman made 29 saves for Steinbach while the Yorkton's Grady Hoffman and Leo Chambers scored the other Pistons goal.
Nolan Wallace, Bryce Bryant and Noel Englot replied for the Oil Capitals who got 32 stops from Eric Reid.
FLYERS 3, BLUES 1
Noah Diemer scored the winner early in the 3rd period to lead the Winkler Flyers to a 3-1 win over the Winnipeg Blues.
Logan Fillion and Brady Craik also scored for the Flyers, while Dawson Zeller scored the lone mark for Winnipeg.
Malachi Klassen stop 21 of 22 shots to earn the win in net.
