The Melville Millionaires go 0-2 on their 2 game road trip as they fall on Wednesday 6-0 to the Melfort Mustangs .
In the first, the Mustangs would get an early powerplay and they would make no mistake on it as Justin Boyer would pick up some garbage in front of Josh Bykowski and slip home his 16th goal of the season to give Melfort a 1-0 lead. Then a short time later, the Mils would get a man advantage of their own but it would be the Mustangs who would use that to their advantage as Moosomin product Dakota Boutin would slip behind the Mils D and then go in alone and put it five-hole on Bykowski for his 11th of the year to give the Mustangs a 2-0 lead after 20 minutes.
The middle frame would be a much more even period with both teams have glorious opportunities. Mils had a couple great chances to get on the board with the best one being Keegan Milligan who rang it off the iron in his 1st game as a Millionaire. Meantime the Mustangs also had some great looks to add to their lead in their best one being Travis Mayan who beat the Mils netminder but then rang it off the crossbar. So no scoring in the 2nd, to have the score remain at 2-0
It would be all Mustangs in third period as they would get 4 total goals including 3 on the PP as Adam Fauchoux, David Heath, Landon Robin, and Cole Hrysky would score for the Mustangs to give them a 6-0 home victory.
Richard Palmer stopped 22 shots for the shutout against his former team while Josh Bykowski made 33 saves in the loss.
The Mils return to action on Friday when they host the Estevan Bruins at 7:30 HCUC.
