Stamps; Wolverines both get shutout on Sunday Night

The Swan Valley Stampeders played decent for 2 periods but it wasn't enough as the Dauphin Kings scored 3 goals in the 2nd and 1 more in the 3rd to blank the Stamps 4-0 on Sunday night.

The Kings did most of their damage in the middle frame as Connor Kortko would start the party on the PP shortly into the 2nd as he ripped one short side past Graham Hunt for his 4th of the season to make it 1-0. They would add another power play marker with just under 3 minutes remaining as Ben Hull would go bar down for his 12th of the year to make it 2-0 Kings. The Kings wouldn't be down there as with just 13 seconds remaining, Kirklan Lycar would bang one home to give Dauphin a 3-0 lead after 40 minutes.

The Stampeders would have chances in the final period to cut into the Kings lead sending 13 shots on net but they wouldn't be able to convert as their opponent would add another one with the man advantage as Hull would hammer home his 2nd of the night and 13th of the season to help give the Kings a 4-0 victory over Swan Valley.

Kings netminder and Local product Connor Shaw made 29 saves for his 1st MJHL shutout while Graham Hunt stopped 37 shots in a losing cause.

Swan Valleys next action will be Friday when they start a 3 game road trip in Portage.
