Mils start roady with 2-1 loss in Nipawin

The Melville Millionaires for most of the night were the better team but just didn't get the result they wanted as they dropped a 2-1 decision to the Nipawin Hawks.

The Hawks would take advantage of some bus legs from the Millionaires early on and control much of the opening half of the period and they would be rewarded for the effort on a weird one as one would bounce in off Blake Fournier in front on the powerplay to give the Hawks a 1-0 lead after 1.

Shortly in the 2nd, the Mils would even things up with a powerplay of their own as Lane Harbor would hammer home his 14th goal of the season to tie things up at 1-1. But just 2:12 later, the Hawks would regain their 1 goal lead as Keagan Kjargard would knock home his 3rd to give the Hawks a 2-1 lead.

Despite having 3 of their 9 powerplays in the 3rd period but they were not able to convert as the Hawks held on for a 2-1 win, their 23rd of the season.

Logan Flodell stopped 31 shots for the win, while Trevor Martin was solid in a losing cause making 37 saves.
