The Yorkton Terriers won the back end of the home and home Highway 10 series on Friday night with a 3-1 victory over the Melville Millionaires at the Farrell Agencies Arena.
The Mils were able to draw first blood for the 2nd straight night and were able to finally break through on the power play as Dalton Menke set up Brennen Miller in front and the big Texan squeaked one through Dawson MacAuley for his 6th of the season to give the Mils a 1-0 lead after 1 period.
After once again a scoreless 2nd period, the Terriers would break the just over 80 minutes of shutout time for Troy Trombley as just 52 seconds into the 3rd period, 20 year old Kurt Johnas deflected home the tying goal to make it a 1-1 game. Then just over 8 and a half minutes into the 3rd on the powerplay, Jordan Evans would bang home a rebound for his 1st SJHL goal and 1st as a Terrier to give them their first lead at 2-1. It would stay like that until 20 seconds remaining when Riley Hunt (pictured above) would ice it into the empty net to give the Terriers their 13th victory of the season a 3-1 win over Melville.
Dawons MacAuley made 27 saves in goal for the win while Troy Trombley stopped 32 Terriers shots in the loss.
