Cards win in Tuesday's WMBL Recap

Yorkton over Regina 6-2

With over 1,000 fans at Currie Field, the Yorkton Cardinals defeated the second-place Regina Red Sox 6-2.


Jared McDonald, a junior from Western Oregon University, led the Cardinals attack with three hits, an RBI and two runs scored. Adam De La Cruz, did his impression of the Bronx Bomber as he smacked his fifth home run of the year in the Regina’s half of the first inning.

Wryland McKnight, the Cards left-hander from Sutherlin, Oregon earned his first WMBL win going six innings while giving up two runs on six hits and five walks.

Red Sox starter Kyle Wilson pitched 6.1 innings in a losing cause.


Moose Jaw over Melville 8-7


This southern Saskatchewan battle needed 12 innings to settle things at Pirie Field. After trading runs during the game, Ty Barclay ended the game with a single that scored John Prudhom with the winning

Fraser Valley junior Markus Gregson registered three hits including a home run for the Miller Express. Jaxsen Davis had two hits and two runs for the Money Men.


Logan Hofmann, the Muenster, SK product picked up his third win after 1.2 extra innings of work. Landen DeLozier dropped the game for Melville.
