Melville's Parker joins Battlefords North Stars Coaching Staff



The Battlefords North Stars are excited to announce the hiring of our new Assistant Coach, Brett Parker, to work alongside Head Coach Klimosko this coming season.

Brett Parker was born and raised in Melville, SK. Brett has a successful past as a hockey player which included playing in the Melville Minor hockey system until moving to Tisdale to play for the Tisdale Trojans of the SMAAAHL.

He was an integral part of this team that won the National Midget AAA Championship in Moncton, NB in 2002. He was drafted by the Prince George Cougars of the Western Hockey League where he played for three seasons. Brett then moved back to Melville to play for his hometown Melville Millionaires in the SJHL. At the end of his season with the Millionaires, Brett signed with the Vancouver Giants of the WHL prior to the WHL playoffs. In 2006-07, Brett was recruited by the University of Saskatchewan Huskies where he played for four seasons. He then played a season in the Southern Professional Hockey League in Pensacola Beach, Florida as he was finishing up his schooling.

Most recently Brett spent two seasons as the Head Coach for the Saskatoon Royals of the PJHL, where he was the recipient of the 2018 Peter Ditittman “Coach of the Year” award.

Battlefords North Stars Head Coach/GM, Brayden Klimosko says “I am very excited to have Brett join the North Stars. Brett is a proven winner and competitor. His passion for the game is second to none. I’m looking forward to working daily with him”

The North Stars are very excited to have Brett join the team to assist us in having another successful season. Brett has a true passion for the game of hockey and
continually learns the many lessons hockey has to offer.
