Terriers' take 4th Highway 10 battle in Melville on Friday

 TERRIERS 6,  MILLIONAIRES 4

The Yorkton Terriers took the 4th Highway 10 battle of the season by beating the Melville Millionaires 6-4 on Friday night from the Horizon Credit Union Center.

Former Terrier Enrique Fontes scored the Teddy Bear Toss goal for Melville just 7:45 into the 1st period as he went top-shelf on Kael DePape for his 1st as a Millionaire to make it 1-0.  But just 45 seconds later, it would be Clay Sleevea responding with his 9th of the season to even it up for the Terriers.

The Milionaires regained their one goal lead just under a minute later from Nicolas Samson, and it was 2-1 Mils after 1 period.

In the 2nd,  5:33 into the 2nd, Charles-Thomas Larochelle redirected home his 5th of the season on the powerplay to give the Mils their first two goal lead.

But the Terriers stormed back late in the 2nd with 3 unanswered goals from Colby Vranai, Zach McIntyre and Tanner Sklaruk to take a 4-3 lead into the 2nd intermission.

Late in the 3rd, they added to their lead with two goals 27 seconds apart from McIntyre and Tyson Janzen to push their lead to three.

Ryland Maier added one late on a beauty short-handed with 1:38 left in the 3rd, but that's as close as Melville would get.

Terriers' G Kael DePape made 29 saves to earn his 11th win of the season, while Jared Thompson in the Mills' go made 34 saves in the loss.

The two teams meet once again tonight (Sat) at 7:30PM from the Westland Insurance Arena.
