Terriers' kick-off roady with Thursday night loss to the North Stars

The Yorkton Terriers kicked off their 3 game in 3 night road-trip with a 9-3 loss to the Battlefords North Stars.

The Terriers' gave up the only goal in the 1st as Moosomin product Marshall Light took a nice pass from Colby Bear and went alone with Caleb Allen and made no mistake for his 1st SJHL goal to make it 1-0 Battlefords after 1 period.

In the 2nd, Jackson Allan made it 2-0 North Stars tapping in his 3rd of the season just 29 seconds into the middle frame before Colby Bear made it 3-0 just under 3 minutes later.

But the Terriers' got some momentum off a great shift from Cade Kennedy, Pavel McKenzie and Jackson McDonnell and it would be Kennedy hammering home his 2nd to get the Terriers' on the board.

That would wake up the road team as they went on to score two more straight goals just 51 seconds apart from Dylan Ruptash and Clay Sleeva to pull the Terriers even.

Battlefords' though, grab their one goal lead off the stick of Kian Bell with 6:45 left in in the 2nd making it 4-3 after 40 minutes.

In the 3rd, the North Stars scored 5 unanswered goals from Holden Doell (2), Steven Kesslerling, Kian Bell and Zane Florence.

North Stars netminder made 31 saves on 34 shots to earn his 9th win of the season, while Caleb Allen (28 of 36 shots) and Tommy Bouchard (5 saves 6 stops) split goaltending duties for Yortkon.

The two teams will play once again on Friday night at the ACC. GX94 will broadcast the game with the pregame show starting 7:20, and play by play kicks off at 7:30PM.

Other Thursday result:

Notre Dame 4, Nipawin 0
