Landon Farrell (GWG with just 56 seconds left), Will Holtan, TJ Reeve, Tyson Predinchuk and Colin Mospanchuk scored for the Mils while Shain Scheschuk, Jacob Jeske, Colton Laroque and Jon Brumwell scored for the Red Wings.
Isaiah Plett came in relief of Richard Palmer (who gave up 2 goals on 5 shots) and stopped 33 of 35 shots while Rylan Parenteau gave up 4 quick goals in the first period but came back to stop 28 of 33 shots in a losing cause.
Seven of the 9 goals in the hockey game were scored in the 1st period.
The Mils improved record to 7-3-1-1 on the season and 16 points to pull in a tie with their Highway 10 rivals the Yorkton Terriers for first in the Viterra Division. Mils next action Friday night when they host the Melfort Mustangs at the HCUC.
