Mils move into 1st in Viterra Division with win in the Battlefords

The Melville Millionaires got goals from 4 different goal scorers as they defeated the Battlefords North Stars 4-2 to win their 5th game in a row.

The Mils started off the 1st period on the right foot as reigning SJHL rookie of the week Landon Farrell would get the Mils on the board on the PP to make it a 1-0 lead after 1.

In the middle frame, this time it would be the Stars getting on the board as Austin Evans would bang one past a sprawled out Isaiah Plett to even the game at 1 apiece after 40 minutes of play.

Despite the Stars evening it up in the 2nd, the Mils would come right back in the 3rd and regain their 1 goal lead as Adam Dibella's long shot from the point would get past Casey Parker for his 1st of the season to make it 2-1. The Mils would get their first 2 goal lead of the hockey game as Brady Constant would bang home a rebound for his 3rd of the year to make it 3-1. The North Stars would show some life in the latter stages of the 3rd and they would be rewarded with their 2nd goal as Nick Fountain would make it 3-2 Mils. But with just under 3 mins to play Kelvin Walz would put the icing on the cake as he would put it top shelf on Parker to give Mils a 4-2 victory.

Isaiah Plett stopped 35 shots for the win while Casey Parker stopped 26 shots in a losing cause.

The Mils will go right back at it on Wednesday when they visit Kindersley . 7:20/7:30 on GX94.
