The Swan Valley Stampeders allowed 4 goals in the 2nd period and that was enough as they fell 5-3 to the Virden Oil Capitals.
The Stampeders had a pretty solid first period as they controlled most of the play and they would get a goal as Andrew Howard would get his 1st MJHL goal to give SV a 1-0 after 1.
But the 2nd period would be a different story as the Oil caps would get 4 goals from Curtis Houlden, Corey Haverstick, Mack Hardy and Taylor Fisher would all help to give Virden a 4-1 lead after 40 minutes.
In the third, and once again a Oil Caps power play goal Devin Schramm would give Virden a 5-1 lead. But then the a Stamps would show some life as they pot 2 more in the 3rd by Max Flanagan and Max Provencher but that's as far as they would get as they dropped a 5-3 decision.
Adam Iwan stopped 33 shots for the victory, while Cole Holowenko stopped 35 shots in a losing cause.
The Stamps will go right back at it on Saturday hosting the Selkirk Steelers 7:30 MB time at the Centennial Arena.
