Stamps; Mils both fall short in their Tuesday Night Matchups

The Swan Valley Stampeders came up a little bit short in their bid to move their winning streak to 2 games after a 3-2 loss on Tuesday night to the Selkirk Steelers.

The Steelers got on the board, early and often as they would score a couple goals 3:24 apart in the first period off the sticks of Victor Knaub and Connor Barley to give them an early 2-0 lead.
But before the 1st period could expire, local product and 16 year old Riley McKay would net his 1at MJHL goal as he would capitalize on a rebound and put it over the top of the Steeler net minder to cut the Stamps deficit to 2-1 after 20 minutes.

After a scoreless 2nd period, in the final frame just 3 minutes into it as Tanner Koroschil would net his 4th goal of the season to tie things up at 2-2. But that score wouldn't last long as Tyler Meixner's first MJ goal just 13 seconds later would stand up as the winner to help the Steelers get their 5th win of the season a 3-2 victory over the Stampeders.

Evan Robert made 26 saves for the Steelers in net while Zach De Graves stopped 35 shots for the Stamps in a losing cause.

Stamps would look to get back on the win track on Wednesday when they continue their road trip vs the Winnipeg Blues. GX94 will broadcast the game with Yorkton Dodge Junior Hockey, pregame 6:50 pxp at 7PM MB time.
