Wells earns 1st SJ shutout to lead Mils over Terriers 4-0

The Melville Millionaires snapped their 2 game slide and move into a tie for 3rd place in the Viterra division with Yorkton after beating the Terriers 4-0 on Friday night,

The Mils didn't take long to get on the board in the 1st period as they would be awarded with a 5 minute power play after the Blow to head penalty to Terrier Co-Captain Corwin Stevely and Carter Hansen would convert just 17 seconds into the PP to give the home team an early 1-0 lead.  They would add their second just 2:40 later, as Quentin Greenwood would take a nice feed from Dylan Ostertag in front and slip it five-hole on Jakob Severson for his 3rd of the year to make it 2-0.  Tyler Chavez-Leech would give the Mils a 3-0 near the half way point the first frame and thats where it would sit after 20 minutes. Shots on goal 16-12 Terriers.

After a scoreless 2nd period, the Mils would add one more for good measure as Mark Zvonkovic's long point shot would get through and in for the 20 year old's 1st of the season to help push the Mils to their 8th victory of the season 4-0 over their Highway 10 rival Terriers.

18 year old Brandon Wells  (pictured above) earned his 1st SJHL shutout stopping all 40 shots he faced to earn his 6th win of the season while Terrier net minder Jakob Severson made 30 saves in the losing cause.

These two teams will go right back at it on Saturday for the back end of the home and home series at 7:30 from the Farrell Agencies Arena.
