Stamps drop 5-3 decision to Selkirk, Wolves beat Winkler in shootout

The Swan Valley Stampeders dropped a 5-3 decision to the Selkirk Steelers and took 1 out of 4 points in their 2 games at the 2012 MJHL Showcase in Winnipeg. Colin Baudry, Kyle Smart and Brayden McDonald got the goals for the Stampeders. The Steelers were led by Parker Thomas who got his league leading 9th goal of the season and also notched two assists to bring his league leading point total to 14. Jackson Winkler started in goal for the Stamps but was pulled for Alcide Grenier after allowing 4 goals on 14 shots. The Stamps (1-3-1) will return to action on Wednesday when they host the Dauphin Kings. Pre game show at 7:20, 7:30 play by play MB time on GX94.

While in the finale of the MJHL Showcase the Way Way Wolverines got goals from Russell Turner and Jean Michel Naud and Brett Lafond, and Brett Pinkerton had the shootout winner as the Wolves won for the third game in a row a 4-3 shootout decision over the Winkler Flyers. The Wolves next action would be on Oct 13th when they host the Virden Oil Capitals.
