Wolves win, Stamps drop a shootout decision at MJHL Showcase

The Way Way Wolverines made it two straight wins as they defeated the Virden Oil Capitals 4-2 at the first full day of the Showcase in Winnipeg. Vet forward Russell Turner opened the scoring for the Wolves in the first and recently acquired dman David Haaf. Scored twice and Brett Lafond scored his 5th of the season to complete the scoring. Richard Olson and Sean Collins replied for the Oil Caps. 20 year old Riley Feser stopped 30 of 32 shots to get the victory.

The Wolves will continue their showcase tomorrow at 7 Mb time against the Winkler Flyers.

While the Swan Valley Stampeders got 2 goals and an assist from Captain Dylan Reimer but it wasn't enough as they dropped a 5-4 shootout decision to the Winkler Flyers. Colin Baudry and Kyle Smart got the others for the Stamps. Jackson Winkler got the start for Swan had 28 saves on 32 saves to take the loss.

Swan will continue tomorrow at the Showcase against the Selkirk Steelers. Pregame show 4:50, play by play 5 on GX94.
