Dec. 17th Local Junior A Recap

SJHL
Captain Chantz Petruic cashed in with 4 goals to lead the Yorkton Hyundai Terriers to a 5-3 victory over the Nipawin Hawks on Tuesday night.

Petruic's big night now puts him at a league leading 42 goals on the season.

Steven Norum had the other goal for the Terriers while Kaedan Taphorn & Tanner Sklaruk chipped in with 3 and 2 assist nights respectively.

Carson Erhardt, Jordan Simoneau and Michael Makarenko replied for the Hawks.

The Terriers' will play their final home game before the Christmas break on Friday night when they host the Weyburn Red Wings. GX94 will broadcast the game with the "Sask Milk" pregame show kicking off at 7:20 and the play by play starting at 7:30 from the Farrell Agencies Arena.


Other Tuesday SJHL result:

Battlefords North Stars defeated the Humboldt Broncos 7-4.

MJHL
The Waywayseecappo Wolverines let a 4 goal lead slip away as they fell on home ice, 5-4 to the Winnipeg Blues.

Jaymes Knee had 1G 2A to lead the Wolverines while Rayman Bassi, Kris Bladen, and Conrad Phillips chipped in with singles.

Liam Tereposky made 18 saves on 23 shots in the losing cause.

Logan Danis (2), Mikol Sartor, Braden Fischer and Mitchell Joss scored for the Blues.

The Wolverines return to action on Saturday night when they visit the Dauphin Kings.


Elsewhere,

Selkirk Steelers slipped by the Dauphin Kings 5-2.
