Berkeliev; McIntyre lead Mils to home victory over Yorkton in final meeting of 2019

The Melville Millionaires took the 5th installment of the Highway 10 battle on Monday night, doubling up the Yorkton Hyundai Terriers 4-2 at the Horizon Credit Union Center.

The Mils would strike first in the final Highway 10 battle of 2019 as Dylan Wells' long point shot was stopped by Ryan Ouellette but Melville captain Aidan Steinke would bury the rebound for his 8th of the season to make it 1-0.

Just under 3 minutes later, the Terriers would respond as Kaeden Taphorn would finish off a nice passing play from Chantz Petruic and he snuck it through Berk Berkeliev for his 8th of the campaign to make it a 1-1 game after 20 minutes.

The home team regained their one goal lead early in the 2nd when Zach McIntyre would grab a loose puck in the slot and slide home his 11th of the season to make it 2-1 just 1:35 into the middle frame.

Keenan Taphorn would even it up for the Terriers with a PP goal at the 12 minute mark to tie it up at 2-2 through 2 periods.

In the 3rd, the Mils would get the eventual game winner, 4:50 as Rin Beny received a long stretch pass and his long shot would sneak through the left arm of Ryan Ouellette and into the back of the net for his 4th  to give the home team the one goal lead.

Zach McIntyre would ice the game with an empty-netter, his 2nd of the night with just 10 seconds left to play.

Berk Berkeliev recorded his 8th victory of the season in the Mils net stopped 32 of 34 Terrier shots while his counterpart Ryan Ouellette made 19 saves in the loss.

The two teams will meet once again on Wednesday to kick off 2020 with a New Years Day showdown at the Farrell Agencies Arena. GX94 will broadcast the game with the "Sask Milk" pregame starting at 1:50 and the play by play kicking off at 2PM.
