SUNDAY
The Melville Millionaires dropped in their 7th meeting of the season against Weyburn on Sunday night, falling 2-1 to the Red Wings on the road.
Braden Birnie and Rhett Frey got the Red Wings an early 2 goal lead before Max McPeak got the Mils on the board with a goal midway through the 3rd but that's as close as they would get.
Joseph Young in the Wings' goal made 37 saves on 38 shots to earn the victory while Mils' net minder Berk Berkeliev made 26 saves in the losing cause.
The Mils will return to action on Tuesday night when they host the Melfort Mustangs in a rescheduled game from November. Puck drop will be at 7:30PM
SATURDAY:
SJHL leading scorer Chantz Petruic scored two goals including the game winner just 50 seconds into overtime to lead the Yorkton Hyundai Terriers to a 3-2 comeback win over the Kindersley Klippers in a neutral site game played in Canora.
Alec Zawatsky had the other goal for Yorkton while Ryan Ouellette made 34 saves to earn the victory.
Jaxon Georget and Noah Lindsay replied for the visitors who opened up a 2-0 lead in the 1st.
The Terriers' will return to action on Thursday night when they begin a 3 game in 3 night road-trip visiting Pinehouse to take on the La Ronge Ice Wolves.
Elsewhere in the MJHL,
The Swan Valley Stampeders got goals from Nathan Carl and Leyson Coleman but it wasn't enough as they dropped a 5-2 decision to the visiting Portage Terriers.
Mikael Foucher made 28 saves on 32 shots in the loss.
Logan Christensen scored twice for the Terriers while Nathan Moore made 26 saves in the Terrier net.
The Stampeders' will return to action on Wednesday when they host the OCN Blizzard.
Meanwhile after a 4-3 loss to the Steinbach Pistons on Friday, the Waywayseecappo Wolverines fell 6-4 to the Winnipg Blues.
FRIDAY:
The Melville Millionaires scored the tying goal with just 1 second left but they couldn't get the extra point as they fell in the shootout, 3-2 to the Kindersley Klippers.
Jonathan Krahn scored that tying goal for the Mils while Andrew Smiley's 1st as a Millionaire was other offence.
Berk Berkeliev was outstanding making 55 saves in the loss
Liam Fraser and Tyler Traptown replied with the goals for the Klippers.
In the MJHL,
The Swan Valley Stampeders dropped a 2-1 decision on the road against the Neepawa Natives.
Ethan Smith and Bradley Marshall scored for Neepawa who got 25 saves from Dawson Green in the win.
Parker Johnson notched the only marker for Swan while Mikael Foucher made 24 stops in the loss.
