Millionaires' wrap up road-trip with victory in Humboldt

 MILLIONAIRES 5,  BRONCOS 3

For the 2nd time in less than a week, the Melville Millionaires earned a victory over the league-leading Humboldt Broncos by a 5-3 margin.

The Broncos netted the only goal in the 1st late on the powerplay as Alec Saretzky finished off a nice passing play with a one-timer past Mills' G Alexis Giroux for his 22nd of the season to give the home team a 1-0 lead after 1.

In the 2nd, the Millionaires responded in a big way as first Charles-Thomas Larochelle beat William Dyke five-hole for bis 9th of the season to tie it up at 1-1.

Then late in the period the Mills added a couple more as first Cole Larocque short-handed went bar-down for his 4th, and then 2:48 later, Nicolas Samson added his 11th of the season to give Melville a 3-1 lead into the 2nd intermission.

Early in the 3rd period, the Moneymen added their 2nd short-handed goal of the night as Moosomin's Kyle Bochek took a nice feed from Brayden Taschuk & tucked home his 2nd of the year to increase their lead to three.

But the Broncos would mount a little back of a comeback as moments later, they would get a shorty of their own as Lucas Ceccarelli used his good speed to get by a couple of Melville defender's and tuck home his 14th of the campaign to make it 4-2, then another Saretzky with 1:20 left made it a one-goal game but that's as close as they would get as Kyle Bochek added his 2nd into the empty-net with 35 seconds to go to seal the win.

The Millionaires got 35 saves on 38 shots from Alexis Giroux to earn his 7th win of the season, while Broncos' netminder William Dyke made 17 stops in the loss.

The 4 game road set continues on Friday night when they visit the La Ronge Ice Wolves, while the Broncos' host Notre Dame on Tuesday.
