Local Sunday SJHL/MJHL Recap

 MILLIONAIRES 3, BRUINS 9

The Melville Millionaires dropped the back-end of their home and home series with Estevan after a 9-3 loss to the Bruins on Sunday night. 

Eric Houk and Zach Burfoot scored twice for the Bruins to lead the way while Cam Hrdlicka made 23 saves on 26 shots in the win.

Nicolas Samson (2) and Aiden Robson (1st SJHL goal) replied with the Mills goals.

Millionaires netminder Jared Thompson turned aside 34 of 43 shots in the loss. 

The Moneymen will return to action on Tuesday night when they visit the Notre Dame Hounds. GX94 will broadcast the game with "Melville Chevrolet" Millionaires hockey with the pregame show kicking-off at 7:50, while the play by play starts at 8:00PM from the Duncan McNeil Arena.

TERRIERS 3, HOUNDS 2 (SO)

Carson Henry netted the shootout winner as the Yorkton Terriers return to the win column after a 3-2 road win over the Notre Dame Hounds in Wilcox. 

Steven Norum tied the game up for the Terriers with 40 seconds left in regulation, while Zach McIntyre also scored.

Terriers' goalie Tresor Wotton turned aside 36 shots in the win.

Dane Probe and Moosomin's Phil Fath scored the Hounds' goals.

The Terriers look for their 2nd straight win on Tuesday welcoming the Flin Flon Bombers to the Westland Insurance Arena for a 7:30PM face-off.

In the MJHL 

The Waywayseecappo Wolverines used 5 different scorers en route to a 5-1 win over the OCN Blizzard in a neutral-site game in Russell, MB.

Boone Mathison, Kolton Shindle, Max Mazur, Joey Moffatt and Leyton Smith scored the Wayway goals while Dain Sardelli replied for the Blizzard. 

Brett Mirwald made 34 saves for the Wolverines in goal.

The Wolverines will have the night off on Monday before hosting the Neepawa Titans on Tuesday night.
