TERRIERS 4, MILLIONAIRES 1
The Yorkton Terriers now have points in 6 straight games, after a 4-1 victory over the Melville Millionaires to kick off 2022.
The Terriers' got off to a good start in the 1st scoring two late goals late in the period as 20 year olds Erik Boers and Tanner Sklaruk to give Yorkton a 2-0 lead after the first.
In the 2nd, the Terriers added to their lead at around the half-way point as Greg Nelson would chip in his 1st goal as a Terrier to push the lead to three through 40 minutes.
The two teams would exchange goals in the 3rd period as Kishaun Gervais gave Yorkton a 4-0 lead before Jonathan Krahn got the Mills on the board but that's as close as they would get.
Terriers' G Kael DePate turned aside 30 of 31 shots to earn the victory, while Jared Thompson made 32 saves in the losing cause.
The Terriers' will return to action on Tuesday night when they visit the Weyburn Red Wings. GX94 will broadcast the game, with "Legacy Co-Op" Terrier hockey with the pregame starting at 7:20 and the play by play kicking off at 7:30PM.
The Millionaires also play on Tuesday when they host the Humboldt Broncos.
