Stamps drop OT decision on road in Dauphin; Wolverines & Terriers both win on home ice on Tuesday Night

The Swan Valley Stampeders got a point in their 5th meeting with Dauphin as they fell to the Kings on the road on Tuesday, 2-1 in Overtime.

After a scoreless 1st period, just 5:59 into the 2nd Kirklan Lycar would jump on a rebound and bang home his team leading 19th of the season to give the Kings a 1-0. Cody Ellingson would even things up at 1-1, with 7:22 to go in the middle frame as he would take a nice chip pass from Josh Tripp and go top shelf on Jarod Schamerhorn for his 11th of the year to knot it up at 1-1 after 40 mins.

After the 3rd period solved nothing, just 1:15 into the overtime, Brandon Young's long point would hit a Stampeder in front and get by Zach Degraves for his 5th of the season to give the Kings their 2nd win over the Stamps this season, a 2-1 overtime decision.

The pair of 20 year olds in goal played pretty solid in their respective nets as Jarod Schamerhorn would make 29 saves for his 9th victory of the season while Zach Degraves made 33 saves on 35 shots in a losing cause.

The Stamps with a point, are now 2 points up on the OCN Blizzard for 6th place in the MJHL standings with their next action being on Friday night when they host the Selkirk Steelers from the Centennial Arena in Swan River at 7:30.

Elsewhere in the MJHL,

Nathan Peabody would get his first goal as Wolverine just 2:09 into OT as Wayway held on for a 4-3 win over the Neepawa Natives.

Rhett Lough (1G 1A) and Johl Swedlo (1G 1A) led the way for the Wolverines while Brock Paddock had the other marker.
