Stamps doubled up on home ice, 4-2 to Virden

For the 4th time this season the Swan Valley Stampeders fell to Virden, this time a 4-2 decision to the Oil Capitals on Wednesday night.

The Oil Caps would get on the board first as Devan Schramm would find Kyle Bird back door and he would make no mistake for his 5th of the season just 8:32 in to give them a 1-0 lead. Stamps would reply just 1:29 later as the red hot Riley McKay would bang home his 12th goal of the season & 4th in as many games to make it a 1-1 game after 20 mins. Shots 13-8 for Virden after 1.

In the 2nd period the Oil Caps would get the lone marker of the middle frame and it would be Dylan Thiessen getting the goal as he would deflect home a Drake Bodie shot for his 18th goal of the season to make it a 2-1 game. Ben Dalke would give the Oil Caps their first 2 goal lead as he sniped home his 24th of the season to make it 3-1. The two teams would exchange late goals by Colton Brausen (SV) & Devan Schram (VIR) and it would end as the Oil Caps got their 33rd win of the season a 4-2 decision in Swan River.

Sean Keuhn made 21 saves to get the win in goal for Virden while Zach Degraves made 12 saves on 13 shots before he was relieved by Brett Evans for the final 40 minutes and he made 19 saves on 21 shots.

The Stamps remain 2 points up on OCN for 6th place in the standings and they will return to action on Friday when they visit the Selkirk Steelers.
