Mils doubled up 4-2 by Weyburn on Monday

The Melville Millionaires put a good road effort together but lost their 2nd straight, 4-2 to the Weyburn Red Wings on Monday afternoon. 

The Mils after a holding off a big Weyburn push in the first few minutes of the 1st, the Mils would then strike first at 11:02 mark of the opening period as Dalton Menke would slide home his 8th of the season to give the visitors a 1-0 lead after 20 minutes. Shots in 1st were 13-9 for the Red Wings.

In the 2nd, the Mils would make it an early 2-0 lead just 1:06 into the middle frame as Christian Stevens would snipe home his team leading 20th of the season to give the Mils an early 2 goal lead. But just 3:19 later,  the Wings would cut their deficit in half as Connor Burk would go top shelf on Brandon Wells for his 9th to make it 2-1. Then late in the period, the Wings would grab their first as they would score 2 goals just 57 seconds a part of the sticks of Aiden Teilborg (27th) & Lumb (5th) to give the home team a 3-2 lead after 2 periods of play with the shots being 26-16 Weyburn after 40 minutes.

The Mils would have a nice push in the 3rd but they wouldn't be able to get the equalizer as Jacob Wozney would ice it in the final minute to give the Red Wings their 32nd win of the season a 4-2 win over Melville. 

Carter Phair made 24 saves on 26 shots for the win in the Red Wings goal while Brandon Wells stopped 33 shots in the losing cause. 

The Mils next action will be on Friday when they return back to Weyburn to take on the Red Wings.
