Terriers; Wolverines both fall on Tuesday Night Recap

The Yorkton Terriers dropped their 2nd straight on Tuesday night as the Estevan Bruins came back from 2 down on two separate occasions to beat the Yorkton Terriers 5-4 at Affinity Place.

The Terriers would get on the board first as Corwin Stevely would step out of the penalty box and snipe home his 13th of the season off the left post and in to make it 1-0 Terrier, 12:33 into the 1st period. Then just 3:25 later, Jared Legien would sneak home his 21st of the season to make it a 2-0 lead for the visitors. It would stay like that until 37 seconds left in the 1st period as Jason Miller would pick up a loose puck and send it past a sprawled out Nathan Hargave for his 20th to cut the Bruins' deficit to 2-1 after 1 period with Estevan leading the shot column 20-8.

The Bruins would even it up 1:55 into the 2nd as Miller would send a nice pass across to Hayden Guilderson who would make no mistake for his 8th to tie it up at 2-2. But then the Terriers came back with 2 goals in 2:37 span, a short-handed snipe from Jordan Ross and breakaway marker from Kaleb Bell to put the Terriers back in front at 4-2. But with 3:42 to go in the middle frame as Lyndon Pastachak would go short side top-shelf on Hargrave for his team-leading 23rd of the season to cut the Terrier lead in half to 4-3 after 40 minutes.

In the 3rd, Matt McNeil would get the equalizer 7:30 into the period as he would pot home his 23rd of the year to make it 4-4. The Bruins would grab their first lead and the game winning goal with 4:37 left as Michael McChesney would back-hand home his 18th of the season to lead the Bruins to their 2nd straight on home ice.

Curtis Meger got the start for the Bruins and made 22 saves for his 11th win of the season, while 20 year old Nathan Hargrave made 53 saves on 58 shots in the losing cause.

The Terriers return to the ice on Friday night when they visit the Melville Millionaires for the 7th Highway 10 battle of the season. You can hear it on GX94 with Yorkton Dodge Junior Hockey, pregame 7:20 pxp at 7:30.
