The Melville Millionaires wrapped up their 2019/20 SJHL season on Tuesday night with a 3-1 road defeat in Humboldt against the Broncos.
After there was no scoring in the 1st, the second would produce the game's first goal as 5:09 into the middle frame Nathan Hannon sniped home his 1st SJHL goal over the left shoulder of Noah Decottignies to give the Mils a 1-0 lead.
The Broncos would respond though with 4:36 to go as Cade Cavallini's back-hander snuck through the left arm of Berk Berkeliev for his 2nd of the year and that put the game tied at 1-1 through 40 minutes.
In the 3rd it would be Braiden Koran jamming in the game winner just 3:11 into the 3rd period to make it 2-1 before Yorkton product Reid Arnold netted some insurance late in the game.
The Broncos split their goaltending duties as Brendan Foreman made 7 saves on 7 shots in the 1st while Noah Decottingnies turned aside 16 of 17 shots in the final 40 minutes.
Mils' netminder Berk Berkeliev made 29 stops in his final game of the season.
The Broncos with the win earned the 7th seed heading into the SJHL Playoffs.
Would like to thank the Millionaires organization for all they did for me and GX94 throughout the season and also Congrats to Mils' graduating 20 year olds in Aidan Steinke and Tanner Brown on their Junior careers & I wish them nothing but the best going forward.
