Mils' win final Highway 10 battle of season after Saturday win over Yorkton

The Melville Millionaires won the final Highway 10 battle of the season on Saturday night after 3-1 victory over the Yorkton Hyundai Terriers at the Horizon Credit Union Center which also helped them win the annual Parks Cup.

Mils forward Luke Nkwama (22nd goal) and Terriers' AP Vaughn Watterodt (1st SJHL goal) exchanged goals in 1st to make it 1-1 after 1 period.

Then after a scoreless 2nd, local product Colby Lubachowski tucked home his 1st in the SJHL with 10:15 left to give the Mils the lead before Zach McInytre iced it into the empty net with 9.5 left in regulation.

SJHL Goalie of the Year Berk Berkeliev made 47 saves on 48 shots for the victory while 18 year old Matthew Pesenti made 32 saves for the Terriers in the loss.

The win also gave Co- Interim Head Coaches Jarett Waldbauer and Phil Fife their first SJHL wins behind the bench.

The Mils' will wrap up their 2019/20 season on Tuesday night when they visit the Humboldt Broncos while the Terriers' will host Game 1 of their SJHL Quarter-Final on Friday night with their opponent still to be determined.
