Allen’s shutout leads Terriers to win over Hawks on Sunday

 The Yorkton Terriers earned their 4th straight win to start the season after 3-0 win over the Nipawin Hawks on Sunday Night. 

The Terriers' got the only goal of the first frame as Cale Strasky's shot provided a big rebound in front and Greg Nelson tapped it home for his 2nd of the season to make it 1-0 Yorkton through 20 minutes.

After a scoreless 2nd period, Dalton Mayes added some insurance with 3:42 remaining as his seeing-eye wrister beat Reid Lalonde over the left shoulder for his 1st SJHL goal to make it 2-0 before goaltender Caleb Allen was credited with the third Terrier goal of the game after the Hawks shot it into their empty net to wrap up the scoring. 


Allen, the Lone Tree, Colorado product also made 41 stops for his 1st career SJHL shutout while Hawks netminder Reid Lalonde made 38 saves on 40 shots in the loss.


The Terriers wrap up their SJHL Showcase on Monday afternoon at 1:30PM vs. Kindersley Klippers.
