The Yorkton Terriers dropped to 0-1-1 on the season after a 4-1 loss to the Weyburn Red Wings on Saturday night.
The Wing scored 4 unanswered goals off the sticks of Carson Rose, Cole Woodliffe, Ian Parker and Braden Mellon while Carson Welke had the lone goal for the Terriers.
Jakob Severson made 26 saves on 30 shots while Andrew Suriano made 9 saves on 9 shots in 19 minutes of action.
The Terriers next action will be on Tuesday night when they host the Battlefords North Stars at 7:30 from the FAA.
Elsewhere,
Kalen Holt's 2nd goal of the game on the PP in the 3rd lead the Estevan Bruins to a 4-2 win over the Melville Millionaires at Affinity Place.
Tyler Kreklewich and Taylor Kreutzer scored for the Mils while Colby Entz made 32 saves in the losing cause.
The Mils' next action will also be against the Battlefords North Stars on Wednesday night at 7:30 from the Horizon Credit Union Center.
Other winners in the SJHL, were Flin Flon, Melfort and the Battlefords North Stars.
Meanwhile in the MJHL preseason,
The Swan Valley Stampeders beat the OCN 4-3 in the shootout over the OCN Blizzard.
The two teams will meet once again on Sunday at 6PM MB time from Swan River.
