Mils; Cardinals both fall on June 18th WMBL Round-Up

Yorkton 5 at Medicine Hat 7
The home town Mavericks battled back from a 5-2 deficit with a four run seventh inning. 
Caleb Longley keyed the comeback with a three-run double. He later scored on a Zack Kunkel sacrifice fly.  Medicine Hat then added an insurance run in the eighth. 
Cardinal reliever Tyler McDonald was tagged with his fourth loss of the season after 1.2 innings of action. 
Will Ziebol picked up for Maverick starter Michael Carr in the eighth, tossing 1.2 innings. Conner Deeds registered the final out for the save. 
DH Colton Wright hit his first homer of the year in the fourth inning for the, 6-7,  Mavericks.

Dondrei Hubbard had two hits including a double for the Cardinals who fell to 2-7 in the Eastern Division standings. The Cards will wrap up 4 game road trip in Swift Current on Monday
 

Swift Current 3 at Melville 2
Fans were treated to a pitching clinic from Swift Current’s Matt Michalski and Melville’s Mason Furlong. Michalski pitched seven innings giving up just four hits and two unearned runs. He also had six strikeouts. Furlong went 7.1 innings with three hits, a walk and a run for the Millionaires. 
Even though the starters were near perfect both pitchers of record came out of the bullpen. Swift Current’s Sean Chandler allowed one run over two innings for the victory, his first of the year. Eric Sanoz took the Melville loss, allowing a run, two walks and a hit in 1.1 innings of work. 
Moose Jaw held a 2-0 lead after seven complete innings. After a short rain delay Swift Current came out swing and tied it with a pair of runs in the eighth. Ben Andrews put the 57’s ahead for good with his ninth inning solo home run. 
Swift Current now sit atop of the Eastern Division standings with their 9-3 record. Melville fell to fifth with a 4-10 mark and will host Regina on Tuesday.
