The Stamps for the 3rd straight game would strike first and yet again it would be 20 year Brad Goethals hitting the back of the net as his long wrister would beat Terriers’ starter Nathan Moore over the right shoulder for his league-leading 12th of the playoffs to give them the advantage at 1-0 after 20 minutes.
In the 2nd the score would remain the same until the visitors would strike late as Orca Wiesblatt's shot would be stopped by Merek Pipes but the rebound would pop out back-door to Owen Murray who scooped it over the Stamps' net minder with just 12 seconds left in the middle frame to make it a 1-1 game after 40 minutes.
Alex Uryga would get the home crowd back into it early in the 3rd as just 2:20 in, he would walk across the blue-line and his blistering snap-shot would beat Nathan Moore high for his 6th of the postseason to make it 2-1 for the home-side.
The Terriers though would once again respond as just after their powerplay expired, Kolton Shindle would find Reece Henry in front and the Regina product would slide it five-hole on Merek Pipes to pull them even at 2-2.
Then just 1:40 later, Chase Brakel would get the eventual game-winner as his long point shot would re-direct off a Stampeder stick in front and get past the Stamps goaltender to give the Terriers their first lead at 3-2.
Jay Buchholz would add some insurance later with a couple empty-netters to help Portage to the comeback victory.
Nathan Moore making his first start in the MJHL Final would turn aside 24 of 26 shots to earn his 2nd career MJHL playoff victory while Stamps' G Merek Pipes was once again very solid in the Swan goal make 47 saves in the loss.
The 7th and deciding game of the MJHL Turnbull Cup Final will go on Monday night from Stride Place in Portage La Prairie. GX94 will broadcast the game with Yorkton Dodge Junior Playoff hockey, pregame show kicks off at 7:20 with the Play by Play starting at 7:30PM MB time.
