Foxwarren's Barteaux inks 3 year Entry-level deal with Dallas Stars

The Dallas Stars announced today (Thurs) that the club has signed defenseman Dawson Barteaux to a three-year, entry-level contract.


Barteaux, 19, registered 34 points (7-27=34) in 67 regular-season games with the Red Deer Rebels of the Western Hockey League (WHL) last season. Barteaux finished fourth on the team in assists (27) and sixth in points (34) in 2018-19, ranking second among club defensemen in both categories. He also ranked third on Red Deer and led team blueliners with six power play goals.

The defenseman has recorded 70 points (10-60=70) in 174 career regular-season WHL games over four seasons with Regina and Red Deer. Barteaux has also skated in 12 career WHL postseason contests, tallying five assists (0-5=5).

The 6-foot-1, 185-pound native of Foxwarren, Manitoba was originally selected by Dallas in the sixth round (168th overall) of the 2018 NHL Draft.
