Sept 1st Local MJHL/SJHL Preseason Recap

Terriers 3, Millionaires 1


The Yorkton Terriers got some revenge from yesterday's loss on Monday afternoon when they defeated the Melville Millionaires 3-1 at the Farrell Agencies Arena.

20 year old vet Chantz Petruc had a goal and an assist while newcomer & fellow 20 year old Jordan Guiney opened the scoring for the home-side while Chase Gallant had the winner in the 3rd frame.

Booker Chacalias chipped in with the lone goal for the visiting Moneymen.

The Terriers' next preseason action will be on Wednesday night when they visit the Weyburn Red Wings while the Mils will visit the Dauphin Kings on Thursday night

Kings 3, Stampeders 2 (SO)
The Swan Valley Stampeders sent 58 shots on net but they only managed to beat the Dauphin Kings netminders twice as they fell in their preseason opener, 3-2 at Credit Union Place. 


Parker Johnson and Owen Harris scored for the Stamps while Drayden Kurbatoff and Owen Wareham replied for the home side.

Brayden Stevenson had the shootout winner for Dauphin


The two teams will meet in the back-end of their preseason home and home series tonight (Tues) in Swan River with puck drop at 7:30PM MB time.

Wolverines 5, Blizzard 4
The Waywayseecappo Wolverines kicked off their preseason on a high note edging the visiting the OCN Blizzard 5-4 in the annual Rookie Game.


Andrew Boucher led the way for the Wolverines with 2G 1A while Tyson Smith, Matt McLeod and Beau Kennedy also hit the back of the net.


Mikey Baron, Riley Zimmeran, Ben Mitchell and Chris Mingus replied for the Blizzard.

The Wolverines' next preseason action will be tomorrow night (Wed) when they host the Neepawa Natives.
