Nov. 19th Local MJHL/SJHL Recap

KINGS 5,  STAMPEDERS 2

The Swan Valley Stampeders dropped their 3rd straight to the Dauphin Kings after falling 5-2 on Friday night on home ice.

After a scoreless 1st, the Kings' struck first early in the 2nd when Tanner Brouwer's shot beat Kobe Grant over the left shoulder to make it 1-0.

Then the two teams would exchange goals just 28 seconds apart from Parker Malchuk (DAU) and Jacob Paler-Chow (SV) that made it a 2-1 Dauphin lead.

The visitors would add a couple more before the end of the second from Nick Braun and Luke Morris to push their lead to three through 40 minutes.

In the 3rd, Callum Fortin just 4:13 into the 3rd cut into their deficit deflecting home his 3rd of the season to make it 4-2.

But that's as close as they would get as Roblin product Brayden Dube sniped one top-corner late to add some insurance for the Kings.

Carson Cherepak made 30 saves on 32 shots in the Kings net to earn his 13th win of the season, while Stamps' G Kobe Grant made 29 stops in the loss.

The two teams will meet once again on Saturday night in Dauphin.
