Terriers' fall on road in divisional showdown in Estevan

The Yorkton Terriers dropped their 3rd straight against Estevan this season, falling 6-1 to the Bruins at Affinity Place on Tuesday night.

The Terriers got off to a very quick start in Estevan scoring just 35 seconds in as Parker Jasper's long point-shot provided a big rebound in front as Karsten Kruska was in the right spot to back-hand it home for his 6th of the season to make it 1-0 Yorkton early.

It would stay like that until 18:24 mark of the 1st when Caelan Fitzpatrick capitalized on a rebound in front himself and beat Kael DePape for his 13th of the campaign to even the score heading into the 1st intermission.

The Bruins got off to a quick start in the 2nd period as they would score 2 goals in the opening 2:30 as Nolan Jones' side angle shot beat a screened DePape for his 2nd of the season to make it 2-1, and then 45 seconds later, Mark Rumsey scored his league leading 19th to give the home team a two goal lead.

Caelan Fitzpatrick added his 2nd of the night half-way through the 2nd period on the powerplay to push their lead to three after 2 periods.

In the 3rd period, the Bruins' offence continued as Brandon Ambrozik and Kade Runke added a couple more to increase their margin.

Bruins' G Boston Bilous made 30 saves on 31 shots to earn his 13th win of the season, while Kael DePape turned aside 32 shots in the losing cause.

The Terriers' return to the ice for a couple home games this weekend, against the La Ronge Ice Wolves on Friday and then they'll welcome the Nipawin Hawks on Saturday night.
