Millionaires' drop road decision to Estevan on Halloween

The Melville Millionaires' struggles against Estevan continue, as they fell in their third straight meeting with the Bruins this season, 8-2 last night (Sun) on the road.

Bruins' leading scorer Mark Rumsey got the only goal of the first period as he walked across the blue-line and his snap-shot went off a stick in front and over top the shoulder of Alexis Giroux for his 11th of the season to give the Bruins a 1-0 lead after 1 period

In the 2nd period, the Bruins opened the flood-gates with 3 goals in the first 2:43 of the period from Kian Calder, Olivier Pouliot and Alex Von Sprecken to extend their lead to 4-0.

The Mils would get on the board just a few minutes later as Rylan Bruns beat Cam Hrdlicka over the right shoulder for his 2nd of the season to reduce the Mills deficit to just 4-1.

But Estevan would come right back with 3 unanswered from Pouliot, Caelan Fitzpatrick and Kade Runke to push their lead to 7-1 through 40 minutes.

The two teams would exchange goals in the 3rd from Mikol Sartor (Estevan) and Zach McIntrye to finish up the scoring

Cam Hrdlicka made 10 saves on 11 shots for the Bruins before being relieved by Boston Bilous who turned aside 12 shots in relief.

Mils' G Alexis Giroux stopped 13 shots before he left the game due to injury, then Jonathan Verity came in and turned aside 14 of 15 shots.

The Mills will return to action on Wednesday night when they visit the Weyburn Red Wings at Crescent Point Place. GX94 will broadcast the game, with Melville Chevrolet Millionaires' hockey, pregame show starts at 7:20 and the play by play gets underway at 7:30PM.
