J Johnson Triple OT Hero as Terriers push Broncos to Brink

The Yorkton Terriers are now only one win away from capturing their first title since 2006 as they defeated the Humboldt Broncos 2-1 in triple OT to take a 3-2 series in the Best of 7 Canalta Cup Final.

Matt Audette opened the scoring almost half way Into the 1st period when his long wrist shot would beat Dawson McAuley for his 1st of the playoffs Shorthanded to make it 1-0 Humboldt.

The Terriers would even it up 7:31 into the 2nd period when Tyler Giebel would capitalize on a Bronco turnover and put it top shelf on Matt Hrynkiw for his 6th of the playoffs to make it 1-1.

It would stay that score until 1:10 of the triple overtime period as Jeremy Johnson would deflect a Giebel shot past the Broncos net minder for his 6th of the playoffs to give the Terriers a big 2-1 3OT victory.

Big , big props to both hockey teams on a very entertaining hockey game and to the goalies Terriers Dawson McAuley (49 saves on 50 shots ) and Broncos Goalie Matt Hrynkiw (48 saves on 50 shots) in between the pipes.
